An Exploration of the Social and Economic Impact of the Expansion of the University of Nebraska on the Malone, T-Town and Adjacent African American Neighborhoods during the Civil Rights Era" 

Layman Grant University of Nebraska Foundation. August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2022.

The goal was to identify or verify the African American communities that were impacted by the expansion of the University.  Geographical boundaries will be ascertained through the examination of historical data in published and unpublished manuscripts and documents and a content analysis of oral interviews.  The data provided a record of the families and homes impacted by the University expansion from 1960 –1970, including new construction and buildings and land acquisitions.
